You might get a “deal” on Black Friday or cyber Monday from your local appliance/electronics store that haunts you for the next three years if you don’t take time to figure out what you want.

Rumor has it that Blackberry will finally release a BB device that doesn't need a desktop app running or a dedicated Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) to sync email, calendar and contacts with your phone. BB has supported POP and IMAP in the past but this would fully sync your calendar and contacts with your MS Exchange server. The Blackberry Colt may turn things around.

I get the opportunity to set up and test a lot of cell phones for my clients. When I first tried out Android a couple of years ago it seemed like it was designed for geeks only and not well suited for the mass market although it did show tremendous potential. Times have changed and Android has grown up fast.

Sold State Drives are starting to pick up steam although Intel will not be the consumer base player for SSDs it once had been.
The question is, are they worth the price? Consumer level SSD drives can be as much as 20 times as expensive per megabyte as their old spindle drive counterparts. As they are a new technology, there are some kinks to work out despite their incredible speed benefits. The speed gain is undeniable as a SSD computer can often boot in 1/10th the time as a nearly identical system with spindle drives and the apps load in a blink of the eye.

Windows 7 is a step forward from Windows XP and about 3 steps forward from Vista. I've upgraded many many computers to XP for clients who purchased systems with Vista on them and wished it came with XP instead. I've set up several computers with Windows 7 on them and not a single person asked to go to XP.
