Baltimore has the first functional XOHM coverage, where its performance was compared to EV-DO on Verizon's wireless network.    The writers noted that XOHM was significantly faster than EV-DO in their tests but didn't do a large sampling for comparison but file transfers indicate they were using EV-DO A.    Most tests were performed in the same spots where they said they experienced slower performance on EV-DO than they had in other locations but didn't show numbers for comparison.   For some reason they also did not report comparison speeds for WiFi although typically WiFi coverage isn't quite as large as XOHM's potential.

One of the notable features of XOHM in their test was that more than one person could use the same account with a different device as long as neither used it simultaneously.  The other notable advantage was no locked in subscription you can pay by the day. While XOHM has potential, the tests weren't extensive enough in the initial review to state the definitive advantages.   If XOHM actually becomes available in many more cities, we'll be sure to see more subscribers and improvements.
