| Which Is Better - Plasma or LCD? |

August 28, 2008 If you are putting in a new large display you are probably asking yourself which is better, plasma or LCD? LCD and Plasma have different advantages. LCD tends to be more vibrant, draw less power and is less like to have burn in issues although that is becoming less of a concern with Plasma. Plasma tends to have much more fluid motion and deeper blacks such as the Pioneer Kuro. Even at 120Hz, LCDs can seem jittery when displaying scenes with action or panning across a landscape. Sony and other LCD manufacturers are trying to improve the motion processing on LCDs with new models being debuted at IFA this week. Sony is showing off Bravia Z4500 models with 200Hz refresh rates, that should be available in Europe by December.
