| USB 3.0 Offers Benefits You Should Know About |

August 31, 2008 If you charge your phone via USB chances are you’ll be looking forward to USB 3.0.
The new 3.0 spec offers significantly more bandwidth for faster data transfers but most things available today won’t be able to upload or download data much faster even if they had USB 3.0. It will be more energy efficient which is always a good thing but one of the greatest benefits is more power so you can charge your phone, mp3 player, etc. much faster. USB 3.0 devices will be backwards compatible with 2.0 systems but you won’t benefit of 3.0 unless your computer has usb 3.0 on board or through an add on card. Don’t worry about upgrading your computer to get USB 3.0 for a while as you probably won’t see USB 3.0 available for another year.
