T-Mobile officially begins selling the new HTC G1 running Google's Android OS today in T-Mobile stores.
Some people have already begun receiving shipments who ordered the units direct. Competition for Apple iPhone, Microsoft Windows Mobile and Palm is a great thing however, until the unit begins syncing contacts, calendars, e-mail and potentially notes and tasks, the competition isn't in any great trouble. Blackberries ability to sync made it the default business phone for many years, now they are trying to catch up with the features and additional programs available on the other business phones. When the original iPhone came out a little over a year ago, not many business people had use for it because of its inability to sync e-mail wirelessly. With the release of the iPhone 2.0 OS, it has become much more common for business users. When developer releases software for syncing with Exchange e-mail servers, this unit will probably take off but until then it probably won't be the default PDA phone for most businesses.
