Google Chrome – The New Browser on the Block

Google is preparing to release the first iteration of a brand new browser called Chrome. googlechrome.jpg

Vista Chrome takes a slightly different approach to browsing. Google concentrates on the content making browsing more of an application for accessing the content and manipulating that content than on merely displaying content. The interface is simple and easy to navigate. As with any first iteration product only time will tell how popular it becomes but with Google backing it, it can only help light a fire under Microsoft to improve IE8 that much more.  With Mozilla Firefox’s continuous improvements on customizability and significant speed advantages over Internet Explorer, Microsoft will have a hard time holding onto the lion’s share of the browser market.  Traffic to the link below is heavy so you may have to refresh more than once if the page doesn't load the fist time.   While Google Chrome Beta is available for download today, I would never recommend running a beta of anything on a production system.  The first public beta has an issue with Symantec Application & Device protection but does have tremendous speed advantages over IE7.
