Blackberry Storm 9500 Available in November on Verizon |
|
October 8, 2008
The Blackberry Storm or Blackberry 9500 will begin shipping from Verizon in November.
If you have been hoping for a more Windows Mobile or iPhone-like Blackberry with plenty of screen space, a higher resolution touch screen the Blackberry Storm or Blackberry 9500 is a step in that direction. The screen resolution is 480 x 360. Verizon will be one of the first US carriers to ship the Storm. This is a pretty major change in new model selections from Blackberry as to date, most blackberry units did not have touch screen input, the resolution has been much lower and they typically have a physical qwerty or t9 keyboard.
While it may not have all the fun functionality of the iPhone, it should offer business functionality with RIM like efficiency. At least the Blackberry Storm includes copy and paste – a key function still not available in iPhone’s latest firmware release. Only time will tell if Blackberry fans are ready for a BB without a keyboard.
